iPhone 9 price and release date leaked

An industry analyst claims that Apple’s budget iPhone 9 will be unveiled on April 15 before going on sale on April 22

The release date and price for Apple’s next iPhone has been leaked online, and it suggests that fans don’t have long to wait.

While the iPhone – expected to be called the iPhone 9 – was originally tipped to launch March 31, new leaks indicate that the smartphone will now be announced this month.

Jon Prosser, an industry analyst, claims that the iPhone 9 will be unveiled on April 15 before going on sale on April 22.

He tweeted: “Per an internal meeting yesterday, Apple is now preparing for an April release. Tentative dates: Announcement on April 15, Shipments on April 22.”

However, Mr Prosser added that the coronavirus outbreak means that the dates were still ‘tentative.’

He said: “Keep in mind: we’re in the middle of a pandemic, and things could change.”

Meanwhile, a report by industry expert Ming-Chi Kuo, indicates that the iPhone 9 could be much cheaper than most of Apple’s smartphones.

Kuo predicts that the iPhone 9 will cost #151,620

Based on previous iPhone pricing, this would likely translate to around #147,434.49-#195,082.92 for those of outside UK.

In terms of the iPhone itself, leaks indicate that the iPhone 9 will feature a small 4.7-inch display, and will closely resemble the design of the iPhone 8.

While most of Apple’s iPhones now feature Face ID technology, reports suggest that the iPhone 9 will simply have a Touch ID fingerprint scanner.

The iPhone will be the first budget iPhone since Apple released the iPhone SE in 2016.
